LO1 Treatment

TREATMENT

WORKING TITLE

Produced by Will Hewitt and Alex Raynes

THE BRIEF

A short dark comedy film lasting a maximum of ten minutes about a salesman hoping to make it big with his product that is unseen through the first half of the film, it sells unsuccessfully.
He meets a homeless man who he thinks is a great seller when he sees him make ten pounds from one person. The homeless man then begins attempting to sell the product in agreement he makes quarter of the profit, but then discovers a new use for the product, and reinvents its purpose. He then makes more money than ever to people on the street who are in love with the invention.

This ultimately leads to the salesman’s downfall when the homeless man takes all the credit for the product and they essentially switch roles, causing the inventor to be homeless and the homeless man to be rich.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The age of the audience will be 18 or above due to its themes and use of language which will be unsuitable for a younger audience. The target audience will be people into dark comedy films who will appreciate the humour of films like Four Lions or Snatch.

HEALTH AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS.


LEGAL AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS.

The film features drug references throughout so we need to make sure this is addressed in the age rating. We also need to make sure we aren’t glorifying illegal drug-use also and make sure any music used is royalty or with the owner’s consent.
